NewLife Grimsby Church
NewLife Grimsby Church is a Baptist congregation of the Fellowship of Evangelical Baptist Churches in Canada. Its doctrinal statement holds the sixty-six books of the Bible to be verbally inspired, entirely free from error and absolutely authoritative, and teaches salvation by grace alone through faith alone, with the eternal security of those whom God has called. It practises the baptism of believers by immersion and the Lord's Supper, holds each local church to be self-governing under pastors (elders) and deacons, and looks for Christ's bodily return and thousand-year reign.
NewLife Grimsby Church meets on Sunday mornings in the Livingston Activity Centre at 18 Livingston Avenue. It belongs to the Fellowship of Evangelical Baptist Churches in Canada, and FEB Central, the Fellowship’s body for central Canada, lists it in its directory as New Life Community Church.
Rob Bannister has been the church’s pastor since 2011; he studied at New Brunswick Bible Institute and Moody Theological Seminary. The church states its mission as glorifying God by fulfilling the Great Commission in the spirit of the Great Commandment, and names its core values as bold preaching, passionate worship, fervent prayer, courageous evangelism, purposeful disciple-making and loving community.
Worship is at ten on Sunday morning and is livestreamed on YouTube. LifeKidz, the children’s ministry, runs every week during the service for children from nursery age to Grade 5.
What to expect
The church invites people to its 10:00 a.m. Sunday gathering for fellowship, worship and learning. LifeKidz classes for nursery and preschool children (ages 0 to 4) and for elementary grades JK to 5 begin after the first few songs of the service, teaching the Bible through games, crafts and activities; the volunteers are trained in Plan to Protect.
